Better than treasure
For wisdom is better than rubies. All the things that may be desired can’t be compared to it.
Talk about it
Rubies are bright red jewels that cost a lot of money. This verse says wisdom is better than rubies and better than anything you could wish for. You can lose a jewel, but wisdom you keep close goes with you everywhere.
Try it today
Draw a treasure chest and write or draw one wise thing inside it.

If you could have any treasure, what would it be? Is anything better than that?
For the grown-up
In Proverbs 8, Wisdom speaks as a person calling to everyone (8:1). Many Christians read this chapter with Christ in view, since the New Testament calls him the wisdom of God (1 Corinthians 1:24). That is why Woo, our little learner, never speaks Wisdom’s lines: Woo is the one who answers the call.
