Day 10 of 31
Love covers wrongs
Hatred stirs up strife, but love covers all wrongs.
Talk about it
When someone does something wrong to you, hating them keeps the fight going. Love chooses to forgive and not keep bringing it up. That is what it means for love to cover a wrong.
Try it today
If someone upsets you in a small way today, forgive them and let it go. If someone hurts you or scares you, always tell a grown-up.
Ask at dinner
Is it easy or hard for you to forgive? Why?
For the grown-up
Peter echoes this verse (1 Peter 4:8). Covering a wrong means not replaying it or spreading it; it never means hiding harm or keeping secrets that make a child unsafe. It helps to say that difference out loud: “We forgive small hurts, and we always tell a grown-up about big ones.”
